Herbs de Provence Organic
Herbs de Provence or Provencal herbs, are a seasoning blend that originated in France.
This blend, made up of the finest basil, rosemary, thyme, parsley, marjoram, lavender and tarragon, is an herbal seasoning that can be used to prepare a wide variety of dishes. Try some of this blend in Coq Au Vin, which is a chicken cooked in a wine sauce. A lovely vegetarian dish can be prepared with roasted vegetables such as eggplant, mushrooms, onions, even squash that are lightly coated with olive oil and seasoned with the Provencal herbs before being placed in the oven. Add them to a rich marinara sauce and serve over pasta. Leg of lamb can be prepared easily and to glorious effect with the addition of olive oil and this savory herb blend. A pork roast can also be prepared in a similar manner, and tastes wonderful this way. You can also add the seasoning to polenta as it cooks to add flavor.
